Laser Therapy

How  does  the  cold  laser  apply to pain management and  inflammatory responses of our body?
Lasers hasten  the inflammatory process through mitochondrial chromophore  stimulation. This  increases  respiratory  chain  activity, which  enhances ATP synthesis, cellular  repair  and reproduction.
Mast cell  stimulation  increases  histamine, which   raises  vasodilation . Serotonin  and nitric  oxide  levels  increase and lead  to decreased  tissue  ischemia , increase perfusion  and removal
of cellular  debris. Increased nitric oxyde levels  have been  reported  to account for decreased bradykinin levels. Finally, laser  biostimulation raises beta- endorphin levels  and suppresses deporization of  C fiber pain afferents.

The laser therapy has been used to  treat carpal tunnel syndrome, tarsal tunnel syndrome, lateral  epicondylitis and trigger point  syndromes.
Laser Physics and photobiostimulation:
Laser  diode  can  produce monochromatic , wave-length-specific  light energy, which result  in a concentrated beam  of light therapy  with minimal  divergence.
