Sciatica

Sciatica  is defined as  " pain  emerging from the lower back " that is felt along  the distribution  of the  sciatica  nerve in the lower  extremity.  A diagnosis of  sciatica describes a  symptom  and is not  specific  in terms of  cause.  Frequently,  the cause of  sciatica  is  attributed to a  weakness of  sacrailiac   ligament weakness.  In fact, it has been  stated that ligament laxity  in the sacroiliac  joint is the number one  reason  for  sciatica and is one  of the most  commom  reason.
Prolotherapy can provide  long term  solution  rather than just  palliation, it  should be considered  in conjuction with  physical therapy, which can  relax and  strech  pirifomus  muscles  which  usually plays  significant role   while   it  contracts. It  causes  intermittant  " sciatica "  in  some patient.
